From February 25–28, 2025, the Bomanite Technical Conference brought together over 30 North American licensees and 10 international partners—including Bomanite Southeast Asia (BSEA) and Mr. Homok Chung of Bomanite Korea—in Austin, Texas. The event was charged with energy, hands-on learning, and a strong sense of camaraderie, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that has long been the hallmark of the Bomanite network.
This year’s conference evoked memories of the gatherings held in the 1990s and early 2000s, where shared knowledge, innovation, and a passion for decorative concrete helped lay the foundation for the community we know today. For many attendees, it felt like a return to form—rekindling the spirit of collaboration that drives the network forward.
For BIL, having Mr. Homok present was significant. As the newly appointed Master Licensee for Bomanite Korea, his participation provided an important opportunity to engage directly with the global Bomanite family, learn about the latest technical advancements, and gain insights into strategies that can be adapted for the South Korean market.

The technical sessions were a focal point of the event, with in-depth demonstrations on overlays, cementitious toppings, hybrid systems, and the latest advancements in exposed aggregate finishes. With exposed toppings gaining strong momentum in the North American market, Bomanite continues to refine its materials and application techniques to meet evolving demand. Over the course of three days, attendees rotated through live demonstration stations, gaining firsthand experience with both wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry installation methods.
These sessions went beyond observation—participants actively engaged in troweling material, experimenting with specialty aggregates, and comparing mix designs. This collaborative environment encouraged open discussion, feedback, and the sharing of best practices, ensuring that each licensee left with not only new techniques, but also fresh perspectives on craftsmanship and innovation.

The business sessions also proved invaluable. Led by Terry Grimble, the discussion on digital presence emphasized the impact of a consistent, unified brand identity across websites and social media. The North American approach—building professional, cohesive websites in partnership with licensees—has strengthened online visibility, increased web traffic, and generated more leads. Grimble also stressed the importance of visual storytelling through Instagram reels, project highlight videos, and before-and-after imagery—tools that elevate both local marketing and the reputation of the Bomanite brand worldwide.
Beyond the technical and business content, the conference offered memorable networking moments. An evening river cruise through downtown Austin provided a relaxed setting for meaningful conversations, while the closing Texas-style awards dinner celebrated outstanding achievements in the network. Awards recognized excellence across multiple categories, from artistic merit in decorative flatwork to leadership in sustainable design, showcasing the diversity and skill within the Bomanite family.
For BIL, the 2025 Bomanite Technical Conference was more than a gathering—it was a reaffirmation of the network’s shared commitment to excellence, artistry, and innovation. The participation of Mr. Homok and Bomanite Korea underscores the continued growth of the Bomanite brand in Asia, strengthening international ties and paving the way for future success in the South Korean market.
